mouse lag/stutter when opening small programs/ mp3's etc

i'm on winxp sp2 home mbp bootcamp using logitech mx518 hooked into apple ext
keyboard usb connection, i've soaked the ext keyboard thru and thru after some liquid
spatters and dried it out for several days. now whenever i open a folder/.mp3/small
program/big program/image file/delete something big/uninstall something/install something,
when i try to move my mouse it sort of drag stutters in that direction it only lasts
until the process that i initiated has completed, it comes out in the audio also
when i'm playing a song - ie. the song stutters with micro seconds of stuttering
audio in my winamp/foobar apps.
is there anything i can do about this?, reg keys to delete, reinstall/driver logitech
driver, replace ext apple keyboard?,
this symptom does not come out all the time only immediately following the opening
of a large folder/ program/ or even just double clicking on a single mp3/ or enqueueing
a list of mp3's from a folder
