CPU stalled by SVCHOST.exe Friday, August 27, 2010 at 5:35 am Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Samantha (15 messages posted) For unknown reason, no new hardware or programs installed, my laptop stalls for about 10-mins on start up of web browser on first use of laptop in the morning. I noted that this exe prg takes 100% of the CPU usage and stalls any operation on the laptop. I read about the function of this SVCHOST.exe and since I should not touch it, could anybody tell me if there is a way to limit the activity of this guy that paralyzes my computer?
