It is probably a set of multimedia keys on top of the keyboard that are to blame, you should check with the keyboard's maker (or your computer's maker if it is the original one) for a new driver. Driver issues such as this are what make standby problematic on some systems so if you are unable to sort it out you might be best to not use it.
