status/battery indicator flashes amber

I own a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop. 14 months later and my laptops status/battery
indicator flashes 4x amber and 1x white continuously. But yet my battery status on
the computer shows that it is healthy at 100% and it functions as it should without
A/C power. Strange thing is; it continues to flash when I shut down the computer completely.
While in shut-down mode it should shut off. It will only stop when I unplug the A/C
cord. To stop the annoyance of the flashing light in the front of my laptop, I have
to remove the battery and only run on A/C power.
Things I have tried:
- Ran diagnostics with no issues found
- I removed the memory modules for the laptop
and reseated them.
- I also upgraded/flashed my BIOS.
I guess the next thing for me to do is buy a new battery and
see if it is the problem after all?? Any
ideas and suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you :)
