red x on network boxes Sunday, June 6, 2010 at 8:56 am Windows Vista Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Rich Packard (9 messages posted) HP laptop Vista 64 bit. Logged onto my wifes laptop today and there is a red X on the network boxes. Which usually indicates no network connection. However there is a connection and the strength is good and I connect to the internet withot a problem. I just figure out why it is showing the X.
