CClearner

Not too long ago I downloaded CClearner for my WinME PC. I have used it and liked
it. I am now being encouraged to download the newest version (CClearner V2.33.1184).
I would appreciate if someone knows if this new version can be downloaded to my PC
and whether it would be of some benefit if I am satisfied with the one I already
have. As usual, thanks Elmoticky

Personally I would not worry about updating it. My copy of ccleaner is probably
10 to 15 versions old.
When installing ccleaner on a Computer I will install the latest version, but
do not worry about updating to every new version.

Thank you Steve. I was thinking the same thing. The one I have works perfectly,
and i use it sometimes without even doing a scan of my PC. I am sure the correct
spelling of this program is CCleaner, and not like I wrote it in my post (CClearner).
Thanks

Keith hello. I downloaded the new version of CCleaner as you suggested. I then
ran a Symantec Security free scan. I still found the one "bstore//dssagent.exe" adware
infection. I went back and ran my new CClearner hoping to catch and delete the infection,
and although CCleaner deleted approximately 2000 files from original of 42, 073 --
the infection-threat is still there. I again ran anothe scan and the infection is
still there. I am directed to download a program named "Adware: Just findit removal
tool". I read a bit and became frustrated with the hassle involved. For one adward
threat I think I will pass on this one. I am including the link in case you might
need it, even though I am sure you are familiar with this too. Thanks Kehttp:

CCleaner doesn't delete anything that isn't in the delete options you set normally
thats everything in C:\Windows\Temp folder plus Temporary Internet Files and Cookies.
Actually I tried to reply to this earlier but there was some bug in my system.
Every time I pressed e that would open My Computer and when I pressed
l that wanted to log me off. I've done a full virus check and malware
scan but that didn't pick anything up. When the computer starts up I get a web page
showing some bull, when I checked Task Manager iexplorer.exe is still running also
regsvr32.exe which registers dll's and such. I did a system restore for a couple
of days and that appeared to fix the keyboard. I checked CCleaner Tools/Startup
and there was something running regsvr32.exe along with an obscure dll. I found the
dll and deleted it and remove regsvr32.exe from startup, at the moment it appears
ok.

Use latest CCleaner for everyday use.
Then try Reg Organiser v5 (Excellent!)
You need to know what you are doing though.
