Hi Sebastian,
I know your message is a week old, and maybe you've solved it already, but without
knowing the exact nature of the problem, I would think your error message refers
to the fact that something or someone has reset the keyboard Code Page to a value
which the system doesn't recognise.
The default value for DOS/Win9x is Code Page 437.
Given various combinations of old operating systems and new software, or new operating
systems and old software, various error messages can arise.
From my very rusty memory, I seem to recall that you can reset the Code Page by opening
the DOS prompt and typing "cp=437", or something very similar (without the quotes,
of course). You could Google it to confirm. Try it and see if it makes a difference.
