This will depend on your motherboard.
As gewg says "setups are limited to 512MB of RAM with the default install. Some setups don't mind a bit with more." As least he admits this now.
I bought and fitted 2) 256MB strips so it had 512MB and I put in another 128MB
so Windows shows 639MB and I can tell the difference of that 128MB, not that you
will.
Now don't just think sticking more memory in will make things run better. It depends
on the chip speed you have in or what your motherboard spec states.
Mine uses the PC100 speed, you can get PC133 but don't think that faster chips
will make it run faster it won't, it may even run slower. If your not sure them remove
the cover and make a note of any numbers on the chips.
Just search eBay, I bought mine of there.
