The *closing* part is unusual.
I'm betting the site's pages are badly crafted
by the "Web professional(s)" who constructed them.
There are many examples of people who obviously don't know what they are doing
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://www.blackboxsearch.com/
as well as many who DO know what they are doing
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://www.tinyapps.org/

You can feed the address of a page into the HTML Validator
and see just what kind of job was done on that site's construction:

Yes, Microsoft is well known for error messages which are useless.

To add to the Good News(tm), your problem could be any number of things.

Now it's left to you to determine whether your problem is due to bad RAM,
bit rot on your HDD / a damaged app, a Registry error, or a broken device driver.

This is called a "browser crash".
It would be good if you would **be specific** about *which* browser you use
(and which *version*).
Applying all known patches to your browser would be a logical first step.
You might also reinstall that application from scratch (applying all known patches).
|and I have to restart the computer.
|
That is an especially nasty way for an application program to crash.
*Running fewer programs simultaneously* is a good start towards troubleshooting.
Under W98 (and its lackluster memory management),
*shutting down your browser more often* might give an improvement.
(You didn't mention how much RAM you have.)
I use a browser (SeaMonkey) which is based on the Gecko rendering engine.
Another browser in that group (the most popular one) is Firefox.
A big plus is that Gecko-based browsers
(and others not supplied by Micros~1 and not using the Trident rendering engine)
ARE NOT SUBJECT TO INFECTIONS SPECIFIC TO INTERNET EXPLORER.
(Caution: The latest version of Firefox is not supported under Win9x;[2]
you need to get the last of the 2.x releases to use it under W98.)
These browsers have "extensions" which allow you to never even download content from
sites when you find that content troublesome or annoying.
Examples of these are AdBlock, FlashBlock, NoScript, GreaseMonkey, and Stylish.
Another choice is a browser called Opera
which, again, isn't subject to the HORRIBLE security model of Internet Exploder.
(Opera can also do simple user-configurable page-content blocking.)
...and NO ONE should be using Internet Explorer 6; it is a (very un-funny) joke.
...and all of the previous suggestions
assume that you have anti-malware apps installed and recently updated
and have run those.

[2] This is where I usually note that support for W98 by vendors is disappearing
and advise people to pick up a FREE copy of Linux.
