If the broken computer won't start, then there's no
cable that will connect it to your working computers to
extract the information.

You can physically REMOVE the hard drive from the
broken computer and install it (temporarily) as a slave
drive in one of the new computers. How do you feel
about poking about INSIDE the computer cases with a
screwdriver?

It's also possible (perhaps) to boot the old computer
into DOS with a bootdisk, then copy the needed files off
onto a parallel port hard drive or ZIP drive, using an LFN
utility to preserve the long file names.

Or, you can take the old computer to a shop where
they will take the old hard drive out for you and put it in
your newer computer.
