re: msdos pc networking with windows pc Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 6:48 pm Windows 95 Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Jerry (877 messages posted) Hi Mike: Try this: Download PRN2FILE.ZIP, unzip it, and put the PRN2FILE.COM file on your DOS machine somewhere "on the path" so all your programs can get to it. http://www.geocities.com/DOSPrint/prn2file.zip Type this command: PRN2FILE c:\report.prn Now start your DOS application and print out the reports in the usual way. The printer won't print, but all the output will be directed to the new "C:\REPORT.PRN" file. If the target file is not removed, additional reports will be appended to any existing target file. This version of PRN2FILE (there are others floating around) has no facility for "unloading" itself. Reboot your DOS computer to reconnect the regular printer.
