Going to Startup and Recovery I was able to quickly solve the problem with a coupla mouse clicks. Inexplicably, I was unable to get to %systemroot%/boot.ini using the MS instructions. I really appreciate your help, Medlehed. This prob was especially galling because I created it my own dumb self. Thanks again.--wt
