I've been using Win2k with SP4 since they first became available, on everything from a Pentium 100 up to a 4-processor Dell Poweredge server, with no real problems of any sort in 9 years of use.

A useful resource for diehards like us are the sites www.oldversion.com and www.oldapps.com, both of which have nearly every version of most programs that one is likely to need.

And, as I explain to the girls at our office, XP and Windows 2000 are like two different cars which both have exactly the same engine. They use the same fuel, drive on the same roads, and perform nearly identically.

The major difference I've encountered it that when using XP, its like towing a VERY big trailer behind my Miata, ie. SLOWer than Win2K.
