You are using a REAL win2k cd right ? and not bootleg copy right ?
The BIOS is not a real control device so to speak it just reports what it sees or 
what you tell it to see then it will post it so the OS (win2k) can use that info 
to set the HD up,it will run all the items on a boot disk, if it needs to just like 
a boot disk,i.e.fdisk,format
